The Art of Asking- Amanda Palmer
I watched this a couple times today. It’s a little long, but I think Christians, and probably more specifically missionaries and those in ministry, can relate to a lot of things Amanda Palmer says. Kamanda and I are so thankful for those who support us. People who support us with kind words of encouragement, with goodies from home, with facebook messages, with Facetime conversations, with prayerful and financial support. We really feel as if we have a community of friends and family backing us from near and far. Most importantly we feel God’s love and support through each and every one of you. At times it may be hard for us to ask for things like money, prayer, pop-tarts, school supplies, sponsors for students, donations towards a building campaign….but when we see how excited, eager, and willing people are to give it makes us realize how much more so God is excited, eager, willing to answer our prayers.
We do not MAKE people give anything. We LET them give not what is theirs but what has been given TO them by God. As we come closer to one year of service here in the Dominican, thank you to those who have answered our asks and continue on this journey at our side.
-Jeff
Updates:
-We are still awaiting our residency approval, but believe that we have submitted all the documents necessary. Our lawyer has an appointment this upcoming week to look through 3 of our files with the Dominican Immigration office. It blows our minds that we have now been working on this process for over a year. Continued prayers are appreciated:)
-We have plans to make a stateside visit in the next month and hoping to book tickets in the next week. We have started making a list of restaurants and experiences that we would like to take in during our first trip back in the last year. We are most looking forward to relaxing! We are asking for prayers for a refreshing time away as we embark on our second year of ministry with SRI.
