We’ve been stateside for a little over 6 weeks now. We recently moved into our rental which is in a small Amish community outside of Fort Wayne, Indiana. We enjoy the sound of the buggies passing by and the simplicity of life that is all around us.
Jeff was in the Dominican a few weeks ago to take care of some housekeeping things and catch up with all of the staff. Braegan and I stayed in Fort Wayne. She attended VBS at a local church and had a blast.
At the end of the week the kids got a special treat from the Kona Ice food truck!
Braegan covered her ice in a few different flavors!
I am just over 36 weeks in my pregnancy, and Jeff, Braegan, and I are trying to enjoy as much time together as the three of us before Baby Brother arrives. Braegan and I have been walking to the library which is only a couple blocks from where we are living. She is participating in their summer reading program, and is enjoying the opportunity to get new books every time we visit. We also have been spending a lot of time outside in the water and at local parks.
We’ve had some visitors as well. Jeff’s parents were here for a few days with us to help us move and get settled into our rental. Following their visit Jason and Nicole Hoover along with their kids came for a few days. We went to a Fort Wayne Tin Caps baseball game and the girls enjoyed talking to a couple of the Dominican players in Spanish. The game was followed by fireworks.
As for my pregnancy, I’m continuing to feel well. I am having weekly appointments and this past week my platelets were down to 108 again. If they continue to drop, I will take a steroid to give them a boost prior to delivery. This upcoming Monday, I will have my final ultrasound to check the positioning and measurement of the baby. We will also be visiting the hospital where I will deliver this next week to register and take a tour. I think we are as ready as we can be for his arrival. Braegan has enjoyed feeling when he has fetal hiccups. She thinks they are so funny!
Jeff has been keeping busy fishing and shopping for InstaCart. InstaCart is an app where people can order groceries online, Jeff then gets a notification, he does their shopping and delivers their groceries to their house.
Braegan has also mastered a couple new tasks since arriving stateside, she can now tie her shoes and cast a line while fishing with her daddy. Next week Braegan is going to attend a day camp for a week with another one of her friends. She is excited! She’s also counting down the days to starting first grade, which will begin on August 12. She is so eager to get all of her school supplies. We have been reading a lot of Junie B. Jones, and most of her stories take place as a first grader.
We are also able to celebrate a few special occasions this month. My sister turned 20 this week (July 9), Jeff and I celebrated 11 years of marriage (July 11), and my dad turns 60 next week (July 16).
I believe that is all of the updating I have for now. We appreciate your continued encouragement and prayers. Hopefully we will have our baby’s arrival in the next update:)
