It’s hard to believe we are less than a week from Thanksgiving….and not much time left before December! We have a small team here this week from Ohio Northern University to celebrate Thanksgiving with. There are a couple other US families that live in San Juan, and they will be coming to the guesthouse for a big Thanksgiving feast.
I’ve been enjoying everyone’s “1st snowfall pictures”. I can say I don’t envy you, I still enjoy my view of the palm trees and mountains all around me as I sit on my rooftop and soak up the sun during my quiet time:)
Braegan is doing well. She now looks forward to going to school every morning. She has homework 2 days a week and looks forward to seeing her friends every day. When Jeff has construction teams, we ride to and from school with Sandy, Jean and Niurka. Braegan loves having friends to talk and giggle with! She also is a huge fan of selfies…which I think she picks up from our group members.
In other news, I turned 29 at the beginning of November. I can’t say that I feel any different, but it’s definitely odd to think I’ll be 30 next year, as will Jeff. I spent my birthday morning by the pool with Jeff, his mom, and Braegan. This was the first time in a while that we had a visitor on my birthday. I enjoyed feeling special.
And to wrap up, we are legal residents of the Dominican Republic for another year. The renewal process was a lot smoother than the initial 2 phases, so that was a blessing!
Enjoy Thanksgiving with your families this week, and we cannot tell you enough how thankful we are for your prayers, encouragement, and financial support. Without any of these things, we would not be able to be as effective as God has allowed us to be.
