Jeff & Kamanda Bucher | Solid Rock

2015 is off to a busy start!

We are 2 weeks away from having a 2 year old, and I can’t believe how fast these past 2 years of parenthood have gone.  Braegan is learning new things every day, and she has become quite the helper.  I think the visiting groups are a little caught off guard at first with the amount of freedom she is given and her independence.  She fills her own water cup and feeds herself at meals.  It is a blast!  Last week she had the opportunity to observe her first surgery, a tonsillectomy!  She enjoyed watching the patient “go to sleep”.  I look forward to the stories she will share as she gets older, as I know she isn’t experiencing a typical childhood.  She also received some “snow” from her Grandma Lynn and enjoyed playing with it up on the roof in the warm sun!

Jeff’s schedule has picked up a lot with the construction beginning on the new clinic property.  He seems to really be enjoying it too, which is awesome.  This past week they constructed a little kitchen, sheltered dining area, and turned half of the container into an office.  The kitchen will provide meals to the Dominicans that are working on the clinic.  The momentum is picking up, and every day the land looks a little bit different, progress is being made and a REVOLUTION is coming to San Juan.

My schedule has also picked up a bit as well.  I now am responsible for following up with all of the donors who have declined credit cards and missed payments.  I run a daily report and keep track of people to be in contact with.  I then e-mail everyone on my list and make phone calls trying to clear the names on my list.  In the last 2 weeks I’ve also had the opportunity to assign 16 new sponsor students to group members.

During the week our family time is limited while Jeff is away, and then when he returns we head to the guesthouse to be with the group for dinner.  We were blessed to be able to spend a few days over New Years with Ken Potter’s family up in Las Terrenas.  It is by far the most beautiful part of the country that we have seen!  It is about a 5 hour drive from San Juan.  We have another trip planned up there for a few days in February to hopefully catch the whales pass through the bay in Samana.

Thanks for your continued support!  We couldn’t do what we are doing without your prayers, finances, and encouragement!
